YWP Regional Call – Empowering Young Water Professionals through IWA YWP Chapters in Asia-Pacific

This IWA YWP Regional Call is organised by the IWA YWP Steering Committee with the support of the IWA Secretariat. An IWA YWP Regional Call is an online gathering organised by the International Water Association (IWA) specifically for Young Water Professionals (YWPs) within a particular geographical region (e.g., Africa, Latin America & the Caribbean, Asia-Pacific, Europe, or North America). These calls are part of IWA’s ongoing efforts to foster a connected and empowered global YWP community.

With a focus on Asia-Pacific, this Regional Call will bring will spotlight some IWA YWP Chapters from Asia and Australia, highlighting their activities and main contributions towards a water-wise world. This event will explore the evolving roles, initiatives, and challenges faced by a new generation of leaders in the water sector across the Asia-Pacific region, as seen through the lens of young people. It aims to shed light on how YWPs are shaping the future of water governance, innovation, and community engagement in a region marked by diversity, rapid development, and increasing climate pressures.

The event will conclude with an interactive Q&A session to foster cross-sector dialogue and actionable insights.
